MY APPROACH: The hunt for a home starts with my relationship centered approach, which has evolved through 16+ years of experience selling real estate, as well as a discerning ear and my full understanding of how someone lives today versus how they hope to live tomorrow.

I have the uncanny ability to mentally place clients in their new home before they have even determined what they need in a space. This rare skill is born out of a hybrid of an attentiveness and sensitivity to client needs, coupled with the innate desire and ability to listen well, and the rare eye of someone who understands spaces and art.

Working with me is like working with a trusted friend and long-time advisor. My clients feel comfortable opening up to me early on in ways that often surprise them, which always leads to my knowing what they need in a new home almost better than they can articulate it themselves. Once I gather all of the puzzle pieces that constitute their life and family, I immediately know where they will feel at home before they see it.  

MEET SAM*: Monthly dinner host, dog lover, privacy seeker, furniture maker, outdoor enthusiast, skier, world traveler, art lover, city dweller by weekday, seaside town adventurer by weekend, 5x repeat client

 Today, Sam lives in a condominium where he doesn’t quite feel at home anymore due to loud neighbors and extenuating circumstances out of his control. Tomorrow, Sam hopes to have complete privacy, peace, and quiet in a historic single-family home in a beloved location.

THE SEARCH: Sam and I knew that his ideal home didn’t likely exist, so we had to get creative in combining his goals with my expertise, knowledge of the area, and creative problem-solving skills. Could I help Sam envision remodeling an entire house? Could I unearth any off-market options that would fit the bill?

During our quest, layers started to peel away and I learned that what Sam actually wanted far exceeded what had initially been conveyed to me at the start of our search.

Beyond privacy and independence from neighbors, Sam needed an expansive and functional entertaining space focused around a warm and inviting kitchen, as he is a talented home chef who loves nothing more than to host dozens of his friends, their children, and their dogs all at once for monthly afternoon gatherings. He also required a great amount of light throughout his home, a detail that I noticed the moment that I first showed him a property years ago when his face changed completely upon entering a room flooded in soft sunlight. Ample space for out of town guests to comfortably visit was also imperative.

I’m happy to report that Sam closed on his new house recently and that in the end, we were successful in checking all of the boxes discovered along the winding path of his journey home. Sam ultimately chose a property that needed a full renovation and is elated to have the opportunity to pour his heart into planning and customizing every detail of it.
